Jennifer Lutz, Called Teacher at Martin Luther School Joplin MO

Jennifer Lutz serves as a Called Teacher in 3rd and 4th Grade at Martin Luther School in Joplin, Missouri. Through her divine call from the congregation and her Concordia University—Nebraska formation, Jennifer Lutz holds the office of Commissioned Minister of Religion in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod — recognized on the LCMS clergy roster alongside ordained pastors.

A gifted educator with a deep love for her students, Ms. Lutz has designed her combined 3rd and 4th grade classroom so each child can progress at their own level and pace — meeting every student where they are academically while encouraging them to grow. She knows each of her students personally, and finds genuine joy in putting all of her energy into teaching. Her Concordia preparation rooted her in the conviction that Christian education is not merely academic instruction — it is ministry. Her Special Education minor equips her to meet the diverse learning needs of every student, ensuring no child is overlooked or left behind. She serves under the leadership of Principal Mollie Ramstad as part of a dedicated MLS faculty.

Ms. Lutz’s calling extends far beyond her classroom walls. She is involved with Daniel Comfort Dog — Immanuel’s LCC K-9 Comfort Dog ministry — and volunteers with youth ministry at Immanuel Lutheran Church, walking alongside the same students she teaches in their faith lives beyond the school day. Her involvement in church and school alike reflects the deep Lutheran conviction that a Called Teacher’s vocation doesn’t end at 3:00 PM. She also played a meaningful role in MLS’s outstanding 2026 LCMS accreditation review — 8 Strengths, 0 Deficiencies — alongside DCE Jason Glaskey and the full MLS faculty team.
