Crystal Dorsey teaches Early Childhood Age 3 at Martin Luther School in Joplin, Missouri, bringing a lifetime of work with young children and a deep personal faith to everything she does in the classroom. Crystal Dorsey has a long connection to this school community — her adult child, Timara, is a graduate of Martin Luther School.
Mrs. Dorsey’s background spans the full range of early childhood education — from daycare and homeschool to serving as a Kindergarten and First Grade teacher at a Christian school. She also brings several years of experience in social work, giving her a layered understanding of children’s needs that goes well beyond the classroom. Throughout her career, her faith in Christ and her desire to serve children through ministry have been the constant thread. Before joining MLS, she was actively involved in children’s and youth ministry at her church, pouring into the next generation in the same way she now does every school day.
Mrs. Dorsey and her husband Darrell are proud grandparents. That same warmth and delight in children comes through in her Age 3 classroom at Martin Luther School — a place where little ones take their very first steps in faith, learning, and community under the care of a teacher who has given her life to this work. Every child in her class is met as a unique creation of God, worthy of patient attention, gentle encouragement, and joy.
Education & Experience
Mrs. Dorsey’s experience spans daycare, homeschool instruction, Kindergarten and First Grade classroom teaching at a Christian school, and several years in social work. This breadth gives her the tools to meet every child in her Age 3 classroom with understanding, patience, and professional skill — while her Christian school background ensures that faith is woven into every part of the school day at MLS.
Faith, Ministry & Family
Crystal’s faith in Christ and her ministry work are central to who she is. Before joining MLS, she served in children’s and youth ministry at her church — the same calling she now lives out every day in her Early Childhood classroom. She and her husband Darrell are proud grandparents, and she brings that same delight in children to MLS that she brings to her own family. Her adult child Timara is a graduate of Martin Luther School — a connection that reflects Mrs. Dorsey’s long and trusting relationship with this community.
