There are no classes for students on Friday, February 12, 2027. Our teachers and staff are at a professional development conference that day.
PD stands for professional development, and it is not a day off. A conference day puts our faculty alongside other Lutheran educators for sessions built for teachers — instruction, curriculum, classroom practice, and the theology behind all of it. They come back with something to use on Monday.
Ongoing professional development was one of the strengths our accreditation team commended at MLS. More in our accreditation through National Lutheran School Accreditation.
Watch this stretch of the calendar closely — it does not run the way you would expect. After this Friday off, Monday, February 15 is President’s Day, also no school. Then on Tuesday, February 16, grades 5–8 come in for the Geography Bee while Early Childhood through 4th grade stay home. Everyone is back together Wednesday, February 17.
