The Geography Bee is Tuesday, February 16, 2027, 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It is for grades 5 through 8.
⚠️ Early Childhood through 4th grade have no school that day. Only grades 5–8 come in. If your child is in EC, Kindergarten, or grades 1–4, keep them home and plan childcare.
Our upper-grade students spend the day on geography — countries, capitals, landforms, borders, and the questions that come from having actually studied a map instead of glancing at one. It runs most of the school day, so students in grades 5–8 should come prepared for a normal day, lunch included.
This falls in the strangest week of the year. Friday, February 12 is out for a teacher professional development conference, and Monday, February 15 is President’s Day. Everyone is back together Wednesday, February 17.
Competitions like this one are part of what our upper grades are for — real academic challenge in a school small enough that every student takes part rather than watching a handful compete.
