Art Curriculum

Mrs. Billings goal as an art teacher is to inspire Martin Luther School students in the fundamentals of art and Christian art history experience. She encourages her students to achieve to the best of their abilities and to take pride in their projects.

The art program focuses on:

1st Grade- Careers and art

2nd Grade- Cultures and art

3rd Grade- Artists

4th Grade- Elements of art


Throughout the year Martin Luther School stduents will hold viewings of their art work in the community. Last year, our 4th grade class competed in a poster contest at George Washington Carver. One of the students took 2nd place in the state of Missouri!

The art program also has an after school extension that runs two times a week from September through May. Mrs. Billings has teamed up with Diamond R-5 elemntary art teacher, Kay Graves. As a team they achieve unique projects that are more in depth than the traditional art program.

Last, but not least, she always teaches the chidlren there is no can’t in art, only I can and I will try!
